Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! Hope everyone had a great week and has an ever better holiday weekend.

I had a fairly rough week personally, but through all the craziness and the support of some good friends, (Thank you Will. Thank you K.C.) I got up, dusted myself off then got to work.

Had another cake to do this week, as you can see. I swear I was never a Pastry
Chef. What knowledge I have in that field was learned in culinary school and watching a real Pastry Chef where I once worked. Somehow, I've gotten the reputation being one. Oh well, it is what it is. If there is anyone in the Atlanta area that would like a specialty cake, just let me know. Seems I’m gonna be doing it no matter what. LOL

I also got the ‘Author’s Copy’ of the final galley for the Goodreads piece I wrote. After having not looked at it for a week or so, and seeing it in galley format, I have to admit, I’m liking it. Of course there are things that I see that I would like to edit or change, but for the most part, it really is pretty good.

I was also turned on to Mr. Theo Fenraven’s blog’s this week. The whole ‘Writers Writing Badly’ was eye opening. I learned a lot. Quite frankly, having that man as an editor would scare the hell outta me, and I do not scare easily. However I do have to admit I would work with him at the drop of a hat. That will be awhile I’m afraid. I’m just too damn poor to hire him. I’d also have to get new batteries for my cattle prod. I’d need that for self-defense.

It had been my intention to post a freebie short story this week, but I just wasn't
able to pull it together enough to get one done. Sorry people, I’ll try and do better. Maybe this coming week things will settle down enough to do one. So in lieu of that here is a little eye candy. I have no idea of who this man is, or anything about the photo, but I sure wish I did. Sure would like to wake up curled around this one. Yum!

Speaking of yum, what is up with you people? I’ve not received one comment about your sexy food fantasies? What is up with that? Come on, I know there are some pretty twisted people out there. Give it to me. I can take it. Tell me what you’d do in a kitchen with a hot Chef.

I’ll look forward to reading them. Till next week….

Sex or chocolate? Why not both?

Last weeks work
Happy Saturday everyone! Hope everyone had a great week. Someone asked me on Goodreads what I had done last weekend, so I told them and I then showed them. Now I’m showing you. I went to a very good friend of mine’s son’s wedding. I've known him since he was like nine. I can’t believe he is now twenty-seven and married. This was my wedding present to the happy couple. I thought it turned out well.
Originally I was going to give you a little excerpt of the new anthology that I’m in, but was told that the release date has been pushed back a bit, so I guess I’ll wait until I know for sure when it is coming out. As soon as I know, I’ll post a little tid-bit. It is different from what I normally do, so I hope that you guys will like it. Vampires and a little BDSM.
As I posted last week, I’m working on a new piece for MLR that is completely food related. Right up my alley right? After having worked in a professional capacity in the food industry for more than thirty years, yeah, I think I got this one. My challenge here is to not do an info dump or talk about things that regular folk would have to look up. I hate it when I am reading and I go ‘huh?’ and run off to look up a word so I know what they’re talking about.

I had an idea thumping around in my head as I was making that cake last week, so I decided that my main character would be a pastry chef. I mean who doesn't like chocolate and sex? Winning combination right? Then I had a thought this morning: What if I involved some readers? So this is what I’m gonna do…leave comments about some of your fantasies you have about food and sex. I’ll choose one and work it into the story line somehow. For that lucky person they will receive a free copy of the book? That work? So let me hear from you! What are your sexy fantasy’s that involved food? Chocolate penis anyone?

Have a great week everyone. Be safe!

Goodreads Project Finished and Submitted!

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is had a great week and is having a fun weekend! This is going to be somewhat brief today. I’m about to head out of town as soon as I’ve got this posted.
My character Jay, from my Goodreads piece,
'Anything For You Sir'.
The Goodreads story if finish and has been submitted. Last time I looked, I had the second longest submission. How that happened I’m sure I don’t know. So, this photo that I've posted is what I think my main character, Jay, would look like. Rather handsome huh?
Anyway, The Goodreads thing was a blast to do, but now I must get back to the real work at hand, which is writing a new piece. It is all about food, and being the foodie I am, how natural is that?
Next week I think that I may post another little short treat for you guys. Till then, have a great week!

Here's to Fresh Starts!

Howdy folks! Hope everyone had a great week. I must confess I was on a high most of the week from last week’s news still radiating around me.

I have finally finished the Goodreads project! Yay! It came in a little over 51k words. Looking back I realized that I wrote it in a little under three weeks. No wonder I was a little brain dead. However, I’m pleased with the way it turned out. It is going to be a free read, so I hope everyone will take advantage and have a gander. I’ll let everyone know when it’s posted!

It was brought to my attention that I didn’t put up an excerpt of the story from the last anthology, ‘Snowed In’. Ooops! Sorry people. I am putting a download link at the bottom of this post. It is a kitchen story, imagine that! LOL

Speaking of kitchen/food related stories, Man Love Romance (MLR) has an open call for a foodie story. Um…I think I can handle that. So that is my next project. I started on it yesterday. This time one of the main characters is an award winning Pastry Chef. I mean, who doesn’t like chocolate, a hot man, and sex? So it’s off to work I go!

For those who are going to be attending Gay Lit Rom (GLR) let me hear from you!

     Have a great week y’all!
